Q: What is Upsales Subscription add-on?
A: Upsales Subscription add-on is a tool that supports various types of subscriptions, including discounted pricing, different products, and payment intervals over time. It automates the process of managing subscriptions with and without changes, making it easier for businesses to manage their subscriptions.
Q: Can I plan a change to a subscription within the subscription period?
A: Yes, you can plan changes to a subscription within the subscription period. You can add different products or services, as well as have different quantity, discounts or prices. To do so, press the Plan a future change button, and choose when the change should take effect within the ongoing subscription period.
Q: Can I plan changes to a subscription on renewal?
A: Yes, you can plan changes to a subscription on renewal. You can set up a completely new and different subscription from renewal (e.g. the period length, order interval) and the products. To do so, press the Plan a future change button, and choose to plan a renewal period. The start date for the renewal period will follow the end date of the previous period and is not editable.
Q: Can I add different products or services for each planned change in a subscription?
A: Yes, you can add different products or services to each planned change in a subscription, as well as have different quantity, discounts or prices.
Q: Can I have different pricing for each planned change in a subscription?
A: Yes, you can have different pricing for each planned change in a subscription. Make sure to set the price of a product according to the subscription's order interval. The subscription will automatically adjust the price on orders according to the length of the planned change and the chosen order interval in the subscription.
Q: Can I have different currencies in a subscription with planned changes?
A: Yes, you can have different currencies for each new renewal period in a subscription. However, you cannot mix currencies for planned changes within a subscription period.
Q: Can I have different custom order fields in a subscription with planned changes?

Choose an order interval that matches the subscription length (e.g. subscription length: 12 months; order interval: every twelve months), and one order will be created that combines the products for each planned change.
Q: If I have a subscription with planned changes that don't follow the order interval, how will the orders be created?
A: The orders will be created with the products that are included within the order's start and end date.
Q: I want to change the start and end date of a subscription with planned changes. Is that possible?
A: If you've planned a change in your subscription, there are some restrictions to be aware of when changing the start and end dates. See below:
- You can't change the start date on your subscription so it surpasses the day you have planned for a change to take effect.
- You can't change the end date or shorten the period length on your subscription so it would end before a planned change would take effect.
- You can't change the end or start date if you have a renewal period with planned changes. To do so, you need to remove the planned changes within the renewal period.
Q: I have a subscription with planned changes. How will it be renewed?
A: The subscription will be renewed with the same scheduling settings and with the products from your latest change.
Q: Can I plan changes in a subscription that is until further notice?
A: Yes, you can. The subscription will create a renewal period on the day for your change. You can then set up a completely new and different subscription from renewal in terms of scheduling settings and/or products.
Q: When can I not plan changes in a subscription?
A: You cannot plan changes to a subscription that has already ended, or for dates that have passed.
