How unsubscribe lists work
Instead of your contacts unsubscribing to all your email campaigns, unsubscribe lists lets your contacts select what type of email they want to receive from you. This is a good way of sustaining the interest of your recipients.
Contacts are by default subscribed to all your lists and can choose to unsubscribe from either one or all your lists by clicking the unsubscribe link in your marketing emails.
You can have as many unsubscribe lists as you want but a good practice is to have fewer lists. These are some examples of common lists:
- Product updates
- Event invitations and info
- Incidents or scheduled maintenance
Don't add both "Newsletter" and "Newsletter 2" as this might become confusing to your contacts when they visit your unsubscribe page.
Multiple language support
When managing your unsubscribe list options you can add as many translations as you like. The language of the unsubscribe page is based on the users web browser language. If you haven't added a translation for a specific language the unsubscribe page will default to English.
Note that the translations do not affect the emails content in it self.
Unsubscribe lists can be found in Settings under Marketing Automation > Email settings. You need to be an administrator to view and add unsubscribe lists.
