Track how your contacts interact with your webpage and see which pages that they visit. Upsales Script basically does three things:
Tracking which companies are visiting your website
Sets a cookie for retargeting
Sets a cookie to track who visited your website.
Tip! Only use the script for the pages you want to track. Internal pages such as intranets or customer portals might clutter your lists and reports.
Setting up the tracking script
Finding your script in Upsales
For website visit tracking to work properly you need to paste the script presented on the desired webpages you'd like to track. If you are an Upsales Administrator you'll find the script in Settings > website visits.
The script should look something like the image above.
Add the script to your website
The code should be added near the top of the
<head>tag and before other script or CSS tags you use. It is also good to put the script in the footer on the website.
If you are unsure how to put in the script, contact your web agency or the ones maintaining your website.
Using Google Tag Manager?
- Create a new tag in Google Tag Manager for your website and simply paste the Upsales script into this tag.
- Make sure "Support document.write" is checked.
Viewing your website visits
When the tracking script is added to your website the visits will shortly start to show in Upsales. In the marketing tab in Upsales click the tab called Website visits. This list show you the latest visits on the pages you' ve selected to track. Use the filters to narrow down your results.
