Upsales allows you to create advertising campaigns targeting who will see the campaign, including the following types of targets:
- Account Based Marketing (ABM), which is a strategic approach for targeting specific businesses
- Retargeting, which shows your ads to people who have visited your website
- Location, which shows ads in specific countries or regions
- Office hours, which only shows ads Monday through Friday between 8 am and 6 pm in the selected region
There are several steps in the process for creating a campaign, including:
- Name the campaign and define the campaign quota amounts and date range.
- Define the target audience(s).
- Select where your ads will be displayed using Website bundles.
- Select or create the ad(s) to use in the campaign.
- Launch your ad campaign.
This article will guide you through the process on how to create an advertising campaign for each of the four different types of targets.

Defining an Account Based Marketing Target
After you’ve named and defined the campaign, you’ll select the target(s) you want to include in the campaign, including a target based on specific accounts.

To include Account Based Marketing targets, complete the following steps:
- Select Account Based Marketing of the Add target section of the Create ad campaign screen.
- If you have bundled target companies into a sales campaign, you can select the campaign from the Campaigns drop down list. You can select multiple campaigns. If you want to remove one, select the X next to that campaign. You can also define a new campaign.
- Add specific companies from the Companies database that you want to include in the campaign by selecting each company from the Companies drop down list. If you want to remove one, select the X next to that company.
- Indicate whether you want to use the complete range of each company’s IP. If you have problems getting enough impressions with your ad campaigns, we recommended selecting Yes. However, your ads will be shown to some IPs that are not targeted.
- Once you have entered either one or more Campaigns or one or more Companies, you can select Click to check reachability to perform a scan of the effectiveness of your selections. You can change items in Campaigns and/or Companies, and perform the scan again.

- When you have the Campaigns and/or Companies set, select Use Target.
Now you can add other types of targets to this campaign or continue to Website bundles.
You can remove this target by selecting the X to the right of the target on the Create ad campaign screen.

Defining a Retargeting Target
After you’ve named and defined the campaign, you’ll select the target(s) you want to include in the campaign, including retargeting your website visitors.
Retargeting means that you can choose to advertise to the companies who have visited specific pages on your web site or landing pages.

Before you can use retargeting in your ad campaign, you’ll need to add the tracking script to the web pages whose visitors should be included in the retargeting target.
To include Retargeting targets, complete the following steps:
- Select Retargeting of the Add target section of the Create ad campaign screen.
Every visitor to any of your webpages will see your ads, unless you limit impressions to specific web pages.
- Select Add pages.
Your web pages with the tracking script are listed. You can narrow the impressions to only use some of your webpages by adding or blocking specific pages. You can find a specific page by entering the first 3 letters in the Search box.

- Select Use to the right of the page you want to use in the retargeting campaign. You can also select the arrow next to Use for additional options, including whether to include sub pages or to block this page and/or its sub pages. You can also remove this page from retargeting.

The number of pages included in the retargeting campaign are counted in the Selected pages count.
- When you have the Pages to include or block set, select Use Target.
Now you can add other types of targets to this campaign or continue to Website bundles.
You can remove this target by selecting the X to the right of the target on the Create ad campaign screen.

At any point as you are defining your ad campaign, you can select Save draft on the right side of the screen to save your progress and come back later.
