Example 1: Subscription changes after renewal
You sign a subscription for 24 months with quarterly payments. After this period, renewal is a 12-month subscription, paid yearly.
- Use the advanced scheduling template and split the subscription. The subscription will be divided into a current period and an upcoming period.
- Enter the start date for the subscription and order period.
- In Current period, choose:
a) Period length: 24 months
b) Order frequency: Monthly - In Upcoming period, choose:
a) Period length: 12 months
b) Order frequency: Every 12 months
c) The period will be renewed (auto-filled date) with the same period length
d) If the subscription has a notice period, enter the number of months:
You can add separate prices, discounts and products in the two different periods of the subscription
Example 2: Subscription has a 3-month free version, then moves to a paid-for model
The first 3 months are free. Thereafter the subscription will last for 12 months and renew automatically. Orders are created monthly.
- Use the advanced scheduling template and split in the subscription. The subscription will be divided into a current period and an upcoming period.
- Enter the start date for the subscription and order period.
- In Current period, choose:
a) Period length: 3 months
b) Order frequency: Monthly
c) Discount: 100% on each product
The subscription will create orders monthly with 0 in value. - In Upcoming period, choose:
(a) Period length: 12 months
(b) Order frequency: Monthly
The period will be renewed …
If the subscription has a notice period you can fill in the months in this period as well.
Example 3: Subscription starts now, but orders start later
The subscription should start today (15 Sep), but the orders should be counted from November 1st. The orders should be created every four months, 30 days in advance.
- Use the advanced scheduling template.
- Add the desired length of the subscription and make sure that the subscription takes effect from 2022-09-15.
- Add every four months as the order interval. Change so that the order period starts 2022-11-01. Add that orders are created 30 days in advance.
- Add your desired setting for notice period, and whether the subscription is renewed or terminated:
Result: The subscription starts September, 15th, but the first order will be created the 2nd of October for November 1st - March 1st
