In your project templates, you can select who should be given the tasks for that project.

You have the option of selecting either users or roles when getting started with Projects.

How Upsales selects users

Users for the project are selected when the project is triggered by a won deal.

If you enter multiple users or a role in your project template, Upsales will:

1. Prioritise active users over inactive
2. If there's no winner, select the user that has the most tasks in the project
3. If there's still no winner, check who hasn't had a task assigned from the project template for the longest time
4. If there's no winner, check if any users have open tasks from the project template, and prioritise users with the fewest tasks
5. If there's no winner, select the user with the lowest Upsales user ID number

If "Set matching tasks to assignee" is activated in the template setting

Tasks are assigned if the user's role matches the selected role in Who's performing under the task tab. 

If "Set matching tasks to assignee" is activated in a project

If the project has an assignee and Set matching tasks to assignee is activated, unassigned tasks from the selected template will be assigned to them.
