A: No, you can't restore deleted data yourself. Deleting something in Upsales is permanent. There is no recycle bin or undo, and the same goes for merging two companies. This applies to all types of records, for example companies, contacts, opportunities, orders, activities, campaigns and reports.
In some cases our support team can help. We keep backups of your account, so if the deletion happened recently we may be able to restore the data from a backup.
Good to know before you contact us:
- Contact us as soon as possible. Backups are only kept for a limited time. Once there is no backup left from before the deletion, the data can't be recovered.
- A restore brings back the data as it looked when the backup was taken. Changes made after that are not included.
- We restore whole records, not individual fields.
- Deleting a company also deletes what's on it, such as its contacts and opportunities. These are restored together with the company.
- A restore usually means manual work for our team, so it is normally charged by the hour. We'll give you an estimate before we start, and nothing is done until you've approved it.
Find out what was deleted
An administrator can see what has been deleted, when, and by which user in the Delete log under Settings → Account → Security → Delete log. The delete log shows the past 30 days of deletions.
When you contact support, tell us what was deleted (type and name), roughly when, and by which user. It helps us find the right backup faster.
