Setting up Assently
Account registration
- You need an Assently E-sign account with API write access (to set this up contact support@assently.com)
Getting credentials
- Open Assently
- Click Profile menu → Account settings:
- Click API:
- Click Enable API Access on your user agent:
- Make a note of the API key (keep it somewhere secure):
Preparing templates
Documents sent from Upsales for signing are based on templates. Here's how to prepare a template:
- Open Assently and click Templates in the menu:
- Click Create template:
- Click Remove party:
- Leave the template without a document (don't click Select a document for signing):
- Save the template with a name (you'll need this name later):
Activating Assently
- Click Settings → App directory:
- Click Assently E-Sign:
- Click Activate → Accept terms:
- Enter the API key you copied from the 'getting credentials' stage:
- You're now ready to create E-Signs from Upsales!
Using Assently
How to send a document for e-signing
- Click Sales & CRM → E-sign:
- Click New E-sign:
- Choose the company you want to send the document to:
- Click Assently E-Sign:
- Choose the recipient:
- Choose the template:
- Click to upload a PDF of the document that requires an electronic signature:
- Click Confirm & send:
- Click Send:
- The document has now been sent – click Close:
How to track documents sent for e-signing
- Click Sales & CRM → E-sign:
- This shows an overview:
- Under the Status column you can see:
- Waiting for sign: Document has been sent
- Everyone has signed: All recipients have signed and a receipt has been generated
- Cancelled: Document has been recalled or has expired in Assently
- Rejected: At least one recipient has rejected the document. Visit Assently to view the reason
How to send e-sign documents from opportunities
- Click Sales & CRM → Sales board:
- Create an opportunity or open an existing opportunity
- Scroll down and click Send E-sign:
- Choose Assently
- (optional) Tick to switch opportunity stage if signed:
- If you tick the box, the opportunity automatically moves to Won when electronically signed:
How to download an e-signed document
- Click Sales & CRM → E-sign:
- Click the filename:
- This downloads the document to your device
How to cancel/revoke an E-sign in Upsales
- Click Sales & CRM → E-sign:
- Click the document you want to cancel/revoke:
- Click Revoke e-sign:
- Now click the e-sign and it will display E-sign was cancelled:
- In Upsales, the status will show as Cancelled:
- In Assently the document will now show as a Draft:
