How to track and record your competition when working on deals.
When recording a lost opportunity to a competitor, you can include their name. If the competitor merges or rebrands, you can update the details in Upsales to keep track.
How to update a competitor
- Click Settings → CRM → Fields → Order & opportunities:
- Under Order fields click Competitor:
- This displays your current list of competitors. Click the box next to the competitor you want to update. In below's example we have two versions of Upsales: lowercase (upsales) and uppercase (Upsales):
You can add competitors when giving a reason for a lost opportunity
- For this example we want to remove the lowercase upsales. Click the box next to upsales:
- Click the dropdown, choose uppercase Upsales and click Merge selected into... to confirm:
- That's it! The next time you record a lost opportunity to a competitor, the merged option will display:
