A stage describes where a business opportunity/sale is in the sales process. What separates the stages is their probability, i.e. the likelihood of a deal closing. For example, you can have the following stages:
- Fallback (5%)
- Prospect 1 (25%)
- Prospect 2 (50%)
- Verbal agreement (90%)
- Closed order (100%)
When clicking on New stage, a new row will appear in the list of existing stages, giving you the option to enter the name and probability of the new stage. The list is sorted by the probability of the stages, with the lowest probability at the top.
If your company has Upsales Plus or Max, you can set privileges on the stages, or in other words, you can restrict which roles are allowed to assign a particular stage to a business opportunity/order.
You can have an arbitrary number of stages, but only some of them will appear on the sales board. Please contact us if this is something you want to change.
If you want to delete a single stage, just put your mouse over that row and a trash can will appear that you can click on. You will then receive a warning message that you must confirm before removal.
Note, however, that you can not delete a stage that has business opportunities or sales associated with it.
You can either change the stage of a business opportunity/sale in the sales board simply through our drag-and-drop feature, or by editing it individually.
