Knowledge is the short description of your company that every AI agent reads before it does anything. Without it, agents write competent, generic output. With it, they write output that sounds like your business.
This is an administrator setting.
This article covers:
- Where it lives
- The three fields
- Generating a first draft
- Getting it right
Where it lives
AI Workspace → Settings → Knowledge. It is titled About this company and described as identity context every AI agent uses.
It applies everywhere: every user's assistant, every personal and org-wide agent, every routine. You set it once for the organisation.
The three fields
Each takes up to 1,000 characters. Short is the point — the guidance on the page is that three short paragraphs beat one long essay.
- Our business — what you sell, to whom, and how you make money. Enough that an agent writing to a prospect does not misdescribe you.
- Ideal Customer Profile — who you actually sell to: size, industries, regions, the roles you sell into. This is what an agent leans on when judging whether a lead is a fit.
- Competitors — who you come up against, and how you differ. Used when an agent is preparing for a meeting or drafting a response where a competitor is in play.
Generating a first draft
Generate from CRM in the top right writes a first version from your own data. It is a decent starting point and faster than a blank field.
Read it before you save it. It is inferred from your CRM, so it will be broadly right and specifically vague — and vague identity context produces vague output everywhere. Edit it into something you would recognise.
Getting it right
- Write how you would brief a new hire in their first hour. Not marketing copy.
- Be concrete about the ICP. "Mid-sized Nordic B2B companies with 10–50 sellers" gives an agent something to judge against. "Companies that value efficiency" does not.
- Say what you do not do. "We do not sell to the public sector" prevents a whole class of wrong suggestions.
- Revisit it when the business changes. New market, new segment, repositioning — this is the one place to update, and it lands everywhere at once.
Tip: if agents across the team produce output that is fluent but generic, this is the first thing to check. It is usually empty.
