Your assistant works in plain language, in your own language. There are no commands to learn and no syntax to get right.
This article covers:
- Starting a conversation
- What to ask for
- Attaching a file
- Following up
Starting a conversation
Open AI Workspace and click New chat, or type straight into the box at the bottom of the screen. The starting screen also offers four shortcuts — Automate, Do it now, Ask about Upsales and Catch up — which just open a chat with a sensible opening question already written.
Write the way you would to a colleague. "What meetings do I have today?" and "who at Acme have we not spoken to since spring?" both work.
What to ask for
Four kinds of request cover most of it:
- Look something up. "Show me open deals over 500k closing this quarter." "What happened last time we met Acme?"
- Do a piece of work. "Draft a follow-up to everyone I met last week." "Create a todo on each deal that has gone quiet for 30 days." Anything that changes data comes back as a proposal for you to approve, not a change already made.
- Ask how Upsales works. "How do I stop invoice notifications from Fortnox?" The assistant looks this up in the Upsales help centre and links the article it used.
- Set something up to repeat. "Every Monday, summarise what moved in my pipeline." See How to create a routine.
Attaching a file
Use the paperclip in the message box. PDF, Excel, CSV, images and plain text are supported. You can ask about the file directly — "what's in this list?", "compare these prices to what we have on the account".
Following up
A conversation keeps its context, so you can refine rather than restate: "only the ones in Sweden", "shorter", "now do the same for last quarter". Suggested follow-ups appear under the answer when there is an obvious next step.
Start a New chat when you move to an unrelated topic. It keeps each conversation focused and easier to find again later.
Tip: if an answer looks wrong, say so and ask it to show its working. It can explain which records it used and re-run the query.
