A: Yes, you can. The contacts you'd like to merge need to belong to the same company (here's how to merge companies).
- Go to the contact you'd like to be the primary contact.
- Click Add -> Merge with another contact
- Choose your secondary contact
- Click the Merge contacts button
- You're done!
The merge runs in the background, so it can take a moment before everything shows on the primary contact. The secondary contact is then deleted.
What is moved to the primary contact
- Activities, appointments, opportunities, orders and emails
- Subscriptions, files, tickets, projects and comments
- Website visits and form submissions
- Categories, campaigns and opt-ins from both contacts are combined
- Name, phone, mobile phone, email, title and custom fields: the secondary contact's value is used only where the primary contact's field is empty
- Notes from the secondary contact are added below the primary contact's notes
Permissions
Administrators can merge any contacts. Other users need permission to edit both contacts and to delete the secondary contact. If you can't delete a contact, it shows as You don't have permission to delete this contact in the list and can't be chosen.
Merge many duplicates at once
Administrators can merge duplicates in bulk. Click the broom icon (Clean your Upsales data) in the sidebar and choose contact duplicates. This lists contacts with the same name, email and company so you can merge them in one go.
