When creating subscriptions, here's how to enter the right dates. You find them under Scheduling, on the Scheduling & products tab of the subscription.
Renewal date
This is when the new subscription period starts, and the next set of orders is created by the subscription.
The renewal date is the start of the current order period, plus the period length. Scheduling shows it in the row The subscription will be renewed, followed by the date.
To move the renewal date, change the period length (The length of the subscription period is) or the date the first period begins. Both are set when you create the subscription. View start date and period length examples.
A subscription with the period length Until further notice has no renewal date. It runs until you give it a termination date.
Termination date
This is the date when no more orders will be created by the subscription.
By default the subscription is renewed. To terminate it:
- In the row The subscription will be renewed, click renewed. It changes to terminated, and the termination date is set to the renewal date.
- To terminate earlier, click the date and pick a new one. It can be any date after the start of the current order period, up to the renewal date.
To keep renewing the subscription instead, click terminated.
For a subscription that runs Until further notice, click end date in the row The subscription has no end date, then pick the date.
If a termination date is set:
- The subscription will not be renewed
- Orders will not be created from the termination date and after
Notice period
The notice period is the number of months before the renewal date that the customer must give notice by. Set it in the row The subscription has … notice period. It can't be longer than the period length.
The options are No, 1, 2, 3, 6 and 12 months. An administrator can change the options and the default in the subscription settings.
