Adding content
- Click the blue + sign that appears when hovering between two rows:
- Choose a row layout:
- Click a cell to add content:
- The sidebar now shows the types of content available. These include text, image, button, line break, video, and custom HTML:
Clearing cell content
Clearing row content
- Click the row you want to clear
- The sidebar appears. Click the Row tab
- Click Clear row:
Delete a row
- Click the row you want to delete
- In the sidebar, click on the Row tab
- Click the Delete row button:
Drag-and-drop rows
You can change the row order by dragging and dropping.
- Hover over a row's drag icon:
- This turns into a hand , icon. Click and drag the hand icon to rearrange the rows:
Undo/redo change
Click the undo/redo buttons at the top of the editor (counterclockwise is undo, clockwise is redo)
Editing text
Click the text you want to edit. The text editor appears above:
The sidebar also appears. You'll see options to align text (left, central, right), and add padding. There's also a toggle to edit a cell's background colour. Click this and add the HEX code:
Editing an image
Click a block containing an image. The editor shows in the sidebar.
Changing the image
Click the Select image button to go the Image Library and change the image:
Changing the width
The width is measured in pixels. Click the + to increase, click - to decrease. Or click the number to add the new width:

Adding a hyperlink
You can add a hyperlink to the image. People clicking the image will then go to the URL you add:
Adding a caption
Click the toggle to have text appear underneath:
Adding padding
Click the + and - signs to increase/decrease padding:
Cell settings
Click the toggle and add a HEX code to set the cell's background colour:
Sizing your image
Images automatically adjust their sizes to match the cells they're placed in. So always try to use images that either match or are bigger than the cell size. However, always compress images as much as possible. Otherwise your email images will load slowly for your recipient. Emails larger than 15MB are likely to bounce Here are recommended image sizes for email templates widths don't include padding inside the cells):

Editing a button
Click a button to display the sidebar editor:
- Add text to show on the button.
- Add the destination URL when users click the button:
- The button automatically uses colours from your Company Profile. Change this by clicking the HEX code box next to the text colour and button colour. Either enter the code or click on the colour palette:
- You can also:
- toggle whether the button fills the cell width
- toggle whether to show a caption under the button
- apply padding (click + or - to increase/decrease)
- Toggle to set custom colours for the cell background colour (click and add the HEX code):
Editing HTML cells
For code-savvy users, there's an HTML cell type for emails. This lets you build (almost) anything you'd like inside your emails.
Changing settings for the entire email
Click the Settings icon:
This opens up editing options for:
Email background colour
Click the HEX code to add your own colour, or click on the palette to choose:
Page header
Toggle to include a page header:
Open email in browser
This can be useful if there's any risk that the email may not display correctly. For example, if you're using rich media.
Add the link text (for example "Email not displaying correctly? View online version") and click the HEX code to change the link colour:
Include a footer
Toggle to include your company contact information and an Unsubscribe link:
Column design on mobile devices
Upsales emails use responsive design. This means your email automatically adapts its size to match how it's being viewed. Whether desktop, tablet, or phone. Below shows the same website on a desktop screen compared to a mobile screen:
